Amy knows that in a world which can pull a person away from themselves, it is of vital importance to get back into a healthy and honest relationship with yourself. She knows when this alignment happens within self, one tends to find inner balance and life begins to fall into place. Amy believes that by providing an environment of listening, empathy, non-judgement and validation, a person can get in touch with who they are, who they want to be, how they feel, and what they think and believe. Amy believes this is where healing begins.
Amy will help you rediscover an empowered version of yourself and encourage you in what you need and want in life. She will support you in the discovery process of healthy boundaries and will help you develop discernment in what is and is not acceptable in your life. She will encourage your development of healthy skills to cope and assist you in getting through life’s challenges as well as aide in uncovering solutions to areas that need them. You will leave sessions feeling safe, connected, vulnerable, listened to and heard, validated, uncomfortably challenged in the most comfortable of ways, inspired, and understood. You will feel loved and accepted for who you are and well, isn’t that some of the best medicine? To be seen. To be heard. To be loved. For exactly who you are. I invite you to embark on an inward journey and adventure. One of rediscovery and the continued development of a healthier relationship to yourself and to the world around you.
EMDR Intensive
What is EMDR?
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based, therapeutic technique that has helped many to work toward recovery from traumatic experiences. It involves moving your eyes or tapping your body in a specific pattern while processing traumatic memories to help the brain reprocess distressing life experiences. EMDR has been found to be an effective way to heal from trauma more quickly and thoroughly than many other methods.

Why do an intensive?
EMDR often allows us to make quicker progress than other therapy methods by using the brain’s natural healing capabilities, and the EMDR Intensives allow us to “stack” multiple weeks of therapy into one day.
EMDR Intensives are a great way to build on existing therapy when you feel you have become stagnant, as a way to prepare for a particularly challenging life event, or as a way to begin a deeply therapeutic journey.
-
Am I a good candidate for an EMDR Intensive?
Just in the same way that you might do training ahead of a marathon, it is a good idea to talk with Amy or your own therapist about ways you should prepare for an EMDR Intensive. Clients who are a great fit for these would have an existing foundation of coping strategies, and a support system in place. They would not be undergoing major changes with medications, and would have stability and safety in their home life. Clients who are struggling with suicidal ideation with any level of plan/intent should work to stabilize these thoughts before doing an EMDR Intensive.
EMDR Intensives are tailored to your unique goals and typically include two comprehensive sessions:
-
Intake Session: A 2-hour deep dive to prepare and plan your treatment.
-
Processing Session: 3, 6, 12, 18 hours of dedicated EMDR processing.
